Latest Updates from Our Project:

We are Funded! Playmats unlocked!
about 8 years ago – Fri, Nov 18, 2016 at 01:50:42 PM

I am truly humbled by the love and support everyone has given to help me get this project off the ground!

I'm currently writing this on my phone on the way to the airport so forgive me if this is a bit rushed. I'll give more details and gifs as soon as I can.

We are funded, but let's not stop there! Let's make this the best game it can be!

  • We're now only about 40 backers shy of unlocking a new passenger
  • We're still about 65 tweets from unlocking a new inspection card

As I said in my last post I've updated the print and play as well as the rules so have a look and let me know what you think/ if there are any glaring mistakes or things don't make sense.

Playmat unlocked

Now that we've hit our funding goal I'm able to add playmats as an optional add-on. These will be a Kickstarter exclusive. I'll only produce enough to meet the amount ordered, with a few extra to cover any losses or for conventions. They won't be available generally, after that amount they're gone.

I'll add a new pledge level so that if you want to get a playmat with the base game you can simply change your backer level.

Anyone at the add an item to the game or higher level will automatically have a playmat included.

If you want to add multiple playmats you can do that just by adjusting your pledge amount to include the cost of the playmat (£13). Check out the first update if you need help adjusting your pledge.

The cost of the playmat includes the additional shipping cost to cover it.

Half-way! Updated print and play!
about 8 years ago – Wed, Nov 16, 2016 at 07:46:24 AM

We're now officially at the half-way point.

This is when Kickstarters traditionally tend to slow down a bit. But I'm not slowing down one bit!

.

Let's Recap

  • You are amazing! I am overwhelmed by the support that I've received for my little game and for that I am eternally grateful.
  • We are just over 70 backers away from a unlocking a new passenger card - incidentally this is probably the number of people needed to fully fund ;)
  • We are just under 70 tweets away from unlocking a new inspection card
  • You are amazing! Thanks to you we've already unlocked a new passenger card for the game
  • There are still some custom items up for grabs - there are 5 left - with these we can make every item in the game totally unique!
  • Did I mention you're amazing?

Let me know which items you like the most!

Last week I set up a google form to collate your feedback on which items you thing are the strangest/funniest. The poll is still open, so please let me know, because then you can't get upset that the blowtorch is only a 1 point item when you thought it should be a 3 pointer. Click the image below to go to the poll.

Updated Print and Play

Over the weekend I was able to play test the advanced rules and I'm happy to say that they're looking really good. I've updated the print and play version of the game to reflect some of the changes. Disclaimer, these aren't final, if you see a silly mistake let me know!

  • You can read the latest version of the rules here.
  • You can check out the latest print and play here.
I didn't win
I didn't win

Here's a quick rundown of the key changes/updates;

  • Drafting - rather than dealing out a random hand of passenger cards or a preset selection of cards the game works much better with giving you a choice. Build your own strategy by choosing your own hand of passenger cards
  • Changing turn order - in the previous version of the game there was always an issue that the player going last had an advantage. To solve this each passenger card is now individually numbered. This number determines the turn order (with lower numbers going first)
  • Simultaneous reveal - in order for the numbers on the passenger cards to take effect each player chooses and reveals which passenger they're going to play at the same time!

Well that turned out to be a bigger update than I thought! If you have any questions let me know in the comments or drop me a message!

Until next time!

The art and design of Nothing To Declare
about 8 years ago – Mon, Nov 14, 2016 at 05:52:36 AM

80% Funded!

That means we're only about £1K from being fully funded. Please keep liking and sharing, every little thumb increases the chance of someone seeing the project.

30 Tweets to the TSA!

The thank you tweets have been going well. Again the more we can get out the greater the chance of drawing in some new backers. Plus once we hit 100 a new inspection card will be added to the game!

The art of Nothing To Declare

I'm incredibly lucky and fortunate to be old friends with the very talented Daniel Tarrant. He's the man behind all the artwork contained within Nothing To Declare. Early on in the design process I knew that the passengers in the game would be really important to the look and feel of the game, so I reached out to Dan to ask if he would be interested. He very graciously agreed and worked his butt off to not only do all of the passengers, but all of the items within the game.

I gave Dan nothing more than the names of the passengers and the instruction to make a diverse cast and I've been blow away by what he has come up with.

Here's a quick glimpse of some of his other work, see if you can spot a friend ;)

Graphic Design

Initially I thought I could manage this myself. I was wrong. I realised that I needed some professional help to really compliment the great artwork. After feeling a little distraught I asked my regular D&D group whether they knew any graphic designers. I was put in touch with my friends fiance Anthony. Anthony is, handily, also immensely talented. In his own words;

"I spent most of the time trying to distill down the core elements that say airport. Things like how to use a boarding pass without being overly complex... it was less about making a background or setting that stuck out so much as one that blended into the background to help highlight it."

I can't express my gratitude to these two individuals enough. This project has really been a team effort. Not to mention my very good friend Ben who did the initial card backs. One of the first things to get finished that really gave the game a real theme.

Until next time!

200 Backers! A new passenger arrives!
about 8 years ago – Fri, Nov 11, 2016 at 08:02:56 PM

Great Success! We've hit 200 backers!

You know what that means, a new passenger has been added to the game!

Remember when we hit 300 backers I'll add another passenger to the game :)

I've been playtesting some new abilities to make sure that everything works once I'm happy with how things are working I'll update the print and play files as well as posting the new rule variants.

Thank you TSA! There have been about 25 tweets so far, we've still got plenty of time to crush this so just click below.

Remember once we hit 100 tweets I'll add a new inspection card to the game.

It's time to have your say!

If you checked out Megan's preview you'll know that one of the things that she wasn't in love with was the values for some of the items (why is a brain worth only 1 point?!?)

Well the reason for that is, there is no reason. I deliberately made the items values random, I did this because I wanted to let you decide what value the items should be worth.

So to that end I've created a google form to let you choose your favourite items. Vote for the weirdest/strangest items. Those that are the most popular will become the 3 point items and the least popular the 1 point options.

You can choose as many as you want. Please feel free to share this, get your friends input the more responses the better.

LET ME KNOW WHAT ITEMS ARE YOUR FAV HERE

Other stuffs;

  • I'll update the page shortly with some new graphics for the new passenger.
  • I'll get swap out the stretch goals graphic with the backer and TSA goals.
  • Next update I'll take you through the art and design of Nothing To Declare.

New Passenger name up for grabs!
about 8 years ago – Fri, Nov 11, 2016 at 02:23:50 PM

I forgot to mention in the last update. The more passengers added to the game the more that will need naming.

I've updated the amount of names available to reflect that we've unlocked the unaccompanied minor. When we reach 300 backers I'll adjust again to allow for someone else to name a passenger.

Until next time...
